This hands-on course covers essential first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques. \nNote: The industry has been transitioning from the “Standard” title to the “Intermediate” designation. Both titles represent the exact same level of certification and are often used interchangeably. \n\nBonus: The B.C. Out of Jurisdiction certification is automatically included with all of our First Aid courses at no extra cost! \n\n\nOverview\nThis program is specifically designed for individuals who require comprehensive first aid training for their workplace\, particularly those operating in the field or within the energy sector where this full-level ticket is mandatory. It is also an excellent resource for anyone wanting the knowledge to handle emergencies at home. \nYou have the option to certify through either the Canadian Red Cross (Standard) or St. John Ambulance (Intermediate). \nShorter Course Options\n\n\nNeed a Recertification? If you hold a current\, unexpired ticket\, you may be eligible for our fast-tracked 1-day Recertification course. Please visit the recertification page for details. \n\n\nNeed Basic First Aid? If your job does not require the full two-day certification\, we offer a 1-day Emergency (Basic) First Aid – CPR Level C & AED course (which consists of Day 1 of this complete program). \n\n\n\nKey Learning Modules\nThis course meets all provincial and territorial worker safety and insurance board legislation requirements and reflects the most up-to-date CPR and first aid guidelines. \n\n\nThe Fundamentals: The EMS system\, Red Cross history\, and the “Check\, Call\, Care” framework. \n\n\nPreparation & Assessment: How to safely prepare for and respond to an emergency. \n\n\nAirway & Breathing: Managing choking and respiratory distress. \n\n\nCardiac Emergencies: First aid for cardiac arrest\, including CPR and AED application. \n\n\nTrauma Management: Treating wounds\, head and spinal injuries\, as well as bone\, muscle\, and joint injuries. \n\n\nMedical & Environmental: Responding to sudden medical emergencies\, environmental hazards\, and poisoning. \n\n\n\nCritical Information\n\n\nSuccess Criteria: To receive your ticket\, you must demonstrate all required practical skills\, maintain 100% attendance and participation\, and achieve a minimum of 75% on a closed-book written exam. \n\n\nCredential: You will receive an official certification from either the Canadian Red Cross or St. John Ambulance. \n\n\nCourse Length: Two Days (approximately 14-16 hours total). \n\n\n
